Toronto Flower Market Update #1

The charm of farmers markets is undeniable. They celebrate the beauty of local, seasonal ingredients and create a vibrant community. I'm excited to have been accepted as a vendor at the Toronto Flower Market. The market runs monthly from May to October and is held at TD Commons, corner of Queen St W & Shaw St. You can find me there on July 15th and Sept 9th, 2023.

My kitchen is a sanctuary of happiness, a place where magic happens and memories are made. In preparation for the market, I'll be scaling up and renting a nearby commercial kitchen. This will provide the infrastructure and compliance needed to turn this kitchen experiment into a thriving food vendor.

But first we need flowers! I've been able to plant seeds early this year by using a mini backyard greenhouse. The greenhouse extends the growing season by protecting the seedlings from frost and cold winds during these early spring weeks.  In a couple months time I hope to be rewarded with edible petals of pansies, calendulas, bachelor buttons, chamomile, marigolds and nasturtiums.
